OUR CENTRE
December 2024 Update
2024 has also been a busy year for us with the planning of our new Centre for Palliative Care and Hospice in Canmore. The design of the building is almost complete, and what a beautiful space it will be for our community.
The landowners' application for subdivision of the land and our development permit application are with the Town of Canmore. Thank you to the McCaffery’s for their ongoing support and their generous gift of land that is making our vision a reality.
Thank you also to the Town of Canmore administration for their assistance as we navigate the development process. Our goal is to break ground in Spring 2025, and we continue to raise funds so that we can begin construction as soon as we are able.
As well as continuing to work with METAFOR, our architects, we have hired an Owner’s Representative Rob Copeland to oversee the project on our behalf and have appointed CANA Construction as our construction manager.
2025 is all set to be another exciting year for PCSBV!
The Centre for Palliative Care and Hospice in the Bow Valley will offer a comprehensive, compassionate environment for individuals facing life-changing illnesses and support for their families and caregivers. This state-of-the-art facility, constructed from funding through community donations and support, will allow us to work with our healthcare partners to fill a critical gap in accessible end-of-life care for the region, bringing services closer to home.
The Centre will provide both residential and community-based care, with spaces and programs thoughtfully designed to enhance comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
