Charity of Choice for BOWDA December Luncheon

We were very fortunate to be selected by BOWDA (Bow Valley Builders & Developers Association) as one of their two charities of choice for 2024/25 and benefit from their annual Holiday luncheon fundraiser on December 12th. It was so wonderful to see the commitment to the two of charities from all of the 180 people in the room and the organizations that they represent. Along with a lot of fun and laughter, they raised just under $90,000 and it continues to grow!

We are blown away by our community’s generosity and are so excited that we get to be part of it, continuing to grow our programs and supports to meet the increasing demand and to look ahead to a space that can benefit even more of our friends and neighbours in the Valley!

Thank you BOWDA and your members and thank you to our Bow Valley community who have supported us throughout!

PCSBV Newsletter March 2025
Well it's true what they say – If you don’t like the weather in Alberta, just wait 5 minutes! From polar vortex to plus double digits in a day or two! With the fresh snow and warmer weather, it's great to see our community back out enjoying their favourite winter pastimes. At PCSBV, we are fortunate to have a wide range of volunteers from our community who love the activities that the Bow Valley has to offer and many more besides.

At our first meeting with someone looking for support, we focus on listening to better understand what matters most to a person as well as the questions they have. This helps us to bring like-minded individuals together, pairing volunteers and clients who have the best fit. The result can be amazing - clients and volunteers doing activities or hobbies together that they both enjoy from snowshoeing to picture framing!

The Centre for
Palliative Care & Hospice
Each day drawing closer to breaking ground, we are finalizing the floor plan and internal layout of the Centre for Palliative Care and Hospice. We are surrounded by the real beauty of nature from the native plants and wildlife to the majestic mountains that soar above us. Our focus is to optimize the light coming into the building, bringing the outside in. Embracing nature and its distinct seasons is an important consideration as we welcome our community into our space.

As well as inside the building, we are giving careful consideration to the outdoor spaces, providing areas where people can gather or quiet spaces for contemplation and reflection. Our approach will be to maintain as natural a surrounding as possible, continuing a strong connection with nature and the land on which we reside. As we progress our plans for the outside, we hope to engage the creativity of local artists to create these unique and natural spaces for those visiting our Centre
